One of the downsides of having built buildings, is that they break down. This requires repairs, costing you some hard earned cash for seemingly no reason at all. Actually is not all that bad. Your buildings still earn you a profit in the long run! Also, you might get lucky and have on of your repairmen find a stash of money hidden inside the building. But as this only rarely happens, it is not taken into account below.
The repair time is half of the time buildings take to accumulate all of its income which remains constant for each upgrade. Exception are the Cleopatra Restaurant and the Caesars Palace Hotel, which have their accumulation times reduced by an hour for each upgrade, and so their repair time decreases 30 minutes with every upgrade.
The repair costs go up by 20% with each upgrade.
